INTRODUCTION

With this course, teachers will become more competent and knowledgeable in using AI in teaching English in Primary and will be able to innovate and to achieve the best for your learners. This course will begin and end with a face-to-face session and is split into two sections so that you will have the opportunity to try out some of the techniques and resources between part 1 in Decembre and Part 2 in January.

OBJECTIVES

The aim of the course is to restock, refresh and revitalize your store of teaching resources and techniques based around Artificial Intelligence as the trainers present and demonstrate a wide range of new AI platforms, as well as tried and tested digital resources which work in the Primary classroom. However, the best way to learn about something (and to polish your classroom English skills at the same time!) is to try it out for yourself and there will be lots of opportunities to experiment and experience the tech, always with your own students in mind. 

COURSE CONTENT

The eight different face-to-face and online sessions will focus on the following areas, always bearing in mind your group’s needs and interests.

• Introducing the 5 key opportunities for technology-enhanced language learning in Primary 
• Looking at Technology for Differentiation - Needs Analysis & the EU DigCompEdu Framework
• Developing digital competence in the professional environment, including effective interactions with colleagues, learners, parents, and other stakeholders
• Empowering Primary learners through digitally enabled learner-centered teaching and learning strategies 
• Developing specific pedagogical competences to facilitate Primary students' digital competence.
• Incorporating AI tools in language teaching, learning and assessment – opportunities & issues
• Enhancing the use and creation of digital resources for language learning, including guidelines for e-safety and ethical considerations
• Managing and orchestrating the use of digital technologies in language teaching, including resolving technical issues and promoting autonomous learning
• Improving assessment practices for Primary through the use of digital strategies
• Reflecting on the development of digital competence and its impact on language teaching and learning

METHODOLOGY

The course is focused on helping teachers assess the role of Artificial Intelligence in teaching English in Primary. Following the EU DigCompEdu framework, you will carry out tasks to develop your competencies, by discovering, evaluating, creating and sharing digital resources. We will look at how to manage digital technologies inside and outside the classroom and empower your students through student-centered activities.
We will explore the new opportunities that cutting-edge AI tools offer for learning and teaching a language. In addition, we will incorporate Primary students' interest in technology to stimulate learning by working on gamification, where activities focus on the student's relationship with language and technology.

FACILITATOR

Lana Kuz is an experienced TESOL-certified educator with a Master´s in Teaching English as a Second Language. Trained in teaching young learners, teens, and pre-primary education, with certifications as a Cambridge examiner. Lana has delivered seminars on teaching methods and assessed students in TOEFL, IELTS and various Cambridge exams.

Duración: 20 horas / 2 créditos.

Sesiones presenciales de 17:30 a 20:30 horas los días: 9/12/2025 y 22/01/2026
Sesiones online de 17:30 a 19:30 los días: Dic 2025: 10, 11 y 12 + enero 2026: 19, 20 y 21
Plazas: 25
Lugar: CEP de Santander para la primera sesión (9/12/2025) y la última sesión (22/01/2026). Resto de sesiones, online.

DESTINATARIOS

1. Profesorado en activo de inglés y Disciplinas No Lingüísticas en inglés en Enseñanza Primaria en centros educativos de la Comunidad Autónoma de Cantabria*.

2. Resto del profesorado.

CRITERIOS DE SELECCION

Orden de inscripción según la prelación de destinatarios.

INSCRIPCIÓN

A través de la página web del CEP: www.cepdecantabria.es. PLAZO: Hasta el 28 de noviembre de 2025 a las 9.00 horas.
La lista de admitidos se publicará en la web el día 3 de diciembre de 2025 a partir de las 13.00 horas.

Es obligatorio inscribirse en esta actividad con la cuenta oficial del dominio institucional Educantabria. Cualquier inscripción realizada con otro dominio no será válida. Se ruega se consignen las inscripciones con los datos completos según reza el NIF del participante.

CERTIFICACIÓN

 Asistencia, como mínimo, al 85% de las sesiones, de acuerdo con la normativa vigente (Orden EDU/41/2009).
A efectos de la certificación de la actividad es obligatorio consignar los datos personales (nombre y dos apellidos) de forma completa, tal y como aparecen en el NIF del participante.
