INTRODUCCIÓN
This course aims to offer an insight on how a native English speaker teaches phonics, reading and writing in the English classroom in Spain. We will investigate different approaches that are widely used in each area of learning. We will focus on what I have found to be successful in my experience in teaching in both Ireland and in Spain.
The course will be taught through English.
OBJETIVOS
This course aims to investigate the different approaches for learning phonics, reading and writing for children in a bilingual education system. We will investigate what methods might suit each participant in the course depending on their particular area of teaching in English.
CONTENIDOS
There will be 2 sessions on phonics to start off the course. This will be followed by one on reading, writing and we will touch a little on some areas of grammar.
METODOLOGÍA
We will investigate different approaches on teaching English to children. This course will be an interactive course with a pooling of ideas and experiences on how to teach English so there will be lots of dialogue as well as an opportunity to practice speaking in English. Throughout the course, we will be making many activities so that you can keep all the ideas in a folder to bring them directly with you into your classroom.
Please come equipped with a folder for storing activities, scissors, a glue stick, A4 paper, crayons/ colouring pencils and any other materials you may have in order to make activities.

CRITERIOS DE SELECCIÓN
La selección se realizará, por riguroso orden de inscripción dentro de cada categoría o grupo y no se pasará hasta la siguiente categoría o grupo hasta que se hayan agotado las solicitudes del grupo anterior, según los siguientes criterios de selección en el orden que se indica a continuación:
1º Profesorado de Centros de Educación Infantil y Primaria dentro del Plan de Inmersión Lingüística en Educación Infantil (PIL) en el curso 2014-15.
2º Profesorado de centros de Educación Infantil y Primaria que desarrollen un PEB de inglés en el presente curso 2014-2015.
3º Resto del profesorado.
